October Favourites

As you may know, today is November 1st so that means an October favourites!! A lot of the favourites are actually taken from my Superdrug and Lush haul (last post) and I have used them in the past few days. I would just like to apologize for the quality of the photos because they were taken on my iPod touch which is like 4 years old.

Firstly is my Rimmel Kate Moss 107. I tried this yesterday so it just slips into October! I'm not the best at applying dark lipsticks so a red one gets very messy. To try and prevent this, I use a lip brush but doing this doesn't give the colour the boldness it deserves. i try and go over it without the brush put then I have to wipe it off because it goes everywhere and I have to start again. If anybody has any tips on how to apply red lipstick SUCCESSFULLY, please could you leave them in the comments below as you would be a real help!! On the other hand, this is such a nice and soothing lipstick especially if you use a lip balm before hand.

Next is my Sleek MakeUP brushes. As you can tell, they are not in the best condition and they need a really good clean but that's because they are my only makeup brushes and I use them constantly. From left to right they are: blusher brush, powder brush, foundation brush, eyeshadow brush, eye contour brush, lip brush. I am absolutely in love with these brushes because they apply easily and are soft on the skin (which I think is a bonus :))! I would recommend these brushes if you are beginning in makeup.

I heard everybody raging about this mascara so I instantly thought 'I need to buy this'. I grabbed it when I saw it and put it in my basket. I now understand why everyone was so excited about this. It isn't heavy on the eyes nor does it clump together. It really opens up you eyes and makes them stand out. I have blue eyes and it really emphasis the colour of them whilst wearing any eyeshadow. If you are looking for a new mascara BUY THIS!!!

I needed a new eyeshadow palette and I had seen this on Instagram. This has every nude colour you need in LIFE! My favourite colours from this eyeshadow palette are the gold ones (fourth from the left on the top and third from the left on the bottom). I love a gold shimmery eye with lots of mascara, a subtle cheek and a nude lip. I would love to do a smokey eye but I haven't mastered them yet so I need to practice a little more to perfect it.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and it has given you some insight into what I like and maybe it has given you some ideas on what you might want to purchase in the future. Please comment below your opinions on this post and if you would like me to do a November favourites. I appreciate all of your comments!!

  1. Lovely post! I adore that lipstick.

I would say try without the brush and apply with the stick. Open your lips and work it slowly onto your lips. Then using the brush do the sides. The best way is to tilt your head as your doing it so your moving with the lipstick, if that makes sense?

Or use the brush and get the base done with it looking nice and keep applying with the brush till the color builds up!

Then go over the bits that have gone onto the skin with a good concealer and a flat brush such as the e.l.f. Studio Concealer Brush!

Hope that helps, give me a message if you need anymore help!

  2. That lipstick is one of my favs! I know what you mean about them being messy. I just apply mine really slowly and then clean up the edges if that helps!

  3. I love that lipstick! The color is amazing! It sounds like you're getting the hang of putting it on! I've been wearing makeup for years and still struggle myself! You could always try a lip liner as well to see if that helps you at all!

I also love those gold colors in the eyes hadow palette! If you have blue eyes, gold just makes them pop!
